Love on the Line is both a visual statement and a collective celebration - a reminder that the city’s true strength lies in its people this Valentines weekend.

Love on the Line is an illuminated installation of love letters written to the city, brought to you with support from Birmingham City University (BCU) as the festival’s first ever Connectivity Partner

Part exhibition, part public exchange, the work brings together love notes and letters displayed on light boxes with an open invitation for visitors to contribute their own letters - to streets, neighbourhoods, late nights, bus stops and versions of the city that no longer exist.

Pinned onto glowing surfaces, these heartfelt declarations will turn private affection for Birmingham into a proud public celebration.

Snap a photo of your letter before it goes on display and tag @birminghlightfestival. Our team will be choosing a selection of letters to feature on the Birmingham Light Festival account this Valentines Day.
