BROUGHT TO YOU BY
Canal and River Trust
At the top of Farmers Bridge Locks, the historic canal toll keeper’s house becomes a beacon of neon. Two glowing windows - spelling out evocative words and simple shapes - create a striking touchpoint for people moving along the corridor to the Jewellery Quarter. Across two special nights, illuminated buoys will shimmer at four points on the water, amplifying the atmosphere on the canal. The windows will shine throughout the event, with staff interaction at set times to deepen the experience. Come and connect with the canal after dark - pause, reflect, and enjoy a burst of light in one of Birmingham’s most characterful waterside spots. This event is funded by the People's Post Code Lottery as part of the Community Roots project.
ACCESS INFO
The Toll house is accessed via the canal towpath and has ramped access from the road. The lock flight consists of mixed surfaces, some of which will be difficult for wheelchair users and other mobility aids to use.
WARNINGS
Please be aware that being near water is a fantastic experience, but does have some risks. Stay away from the water and enjoy the event at a safe distance.
