BROUGHT TO YOU BY

Light Up Fest Lantern Making Workshops are hands-on community sessions inviting families, young people, and visitors to craft illuminated willow and paper lanterns inspired by light, connection, and love. Hosted by the Pen Museum and led by Autin Dance Theatre artists, you will design, build, and decorate sustainable lanterns using bamboo, willow, and tissue paper, finished with battery-powered LED lights.

Each workshop space glows with warm light and gentle music, creating a relaxed atmosphere for creativity, conversation, and togetherness. All ages and abilities are welcome, with step-by-step support and accessible materials.

Take your lantern home, enjoy a candlelit tour of the Pen Museum, then, the following weekend (on Saturday 21 February), carry your creation in a Lantern Procession at Midlands Arts Centre (MAC), around Cannon Hill Park. No experience needed, just curiosity. Free and drop-in.
